As we've noted elsewhere, the same 8 h.p. Rover car features in three of the Lewis photographs.
In the car wash photograph, we get a good view of the transverse-spring front suspension that distinguishes the 8 h.p. Rover from its more conventional 6 h.p. stablemate. Unfortunately the really unusual aspect of the 8 h.p. - its large diameter tubular "spine" - can't be seen with the body in place.
Lewis held the Rover agency only briefly, most likely only in 1905 and 1906. There is also a link bewteen Lewis and with Rover motorcycles around this time, and as time permits I'll explore the Lewis-Rover relationship in more detail.
